Nuclide development and production

The main nuclear research partner is Prof. Dr. Bernd Neumaier at the Forschungszentrum Jülich (> 6.000 researchers) near Cologne, which is the German national nuclear research institution and part of the renowned German Helmholtz Research Association (> 40.000 employees). Until construction of the ERT own, proprietary cyclotron all research and preliminary production of radiopharmaceutical nuclides will be carried out at the high-power (30 MeV) cyclotron at Prof. Neumaier’s team in Jülich. (Picture 1: high-power 30 MeV Cyclotron / Cyclone 30XP).

Furthermore, we are supported by the nuclear research reactor of the Technical University in Munich and are planning to utilize their neutron source for the exploration of novel medical isotopes and nuclides.

The engineering and equipment development (esp. specialized target technologies and nuclide separation) is being carried out by Sykam Chromatography, the leading supplier of equipment and reagents to the radiopharmaceutical industry. The consortium has very close working relationships within with ITM Isotope Technologies, one of the globally leading providers of beta-radiation based radiopharmaceuticals.
